PROTECT THE BORDER

Privacy

Protect the Border is a game in development by Doganci Systems. This website presents the game. It has no accounts, no shop, no newsletter sign-up and no analytics.

The gate demonstration

The Intake Gate on the homepage runs entirely in your browser. The travellers and permits are fictional, and your decisions are not sent anywhere or stored; reloading the page starts the shift again.

Hosting and essential requests

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes connection information, such as your IP address, to deliver and protect the website. No analytics, advertising, embedded video, third-party fonts or tracking cookies are included. Fonts and images are served by this website.

Language and approximate country

On homepage entry, the site uses the country code Cloudflare derives from your connection: Denmark opens in Danish; other known countries open in English. If the country is unavailable, Danish remains the default. This processing serves our legitimate interest in presenting an understandable website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We do not store or log your IP address or country for this feature, request precise location, or contact a separate geolocation service. VPNs can affect the result. Explicit English and other localized page URLs remain available.

Your language choice

Clicking DA or EN overrides the country default and sets only the site-language cookie, containing da or en. It is a first-party session cookie, sent only to this website to remember your requested language. It has no persistent expiry and is normally removed when the browser session ends; browsers that restore sessions may keep it longer. You can change it with DA/EN or remove it by clearing this site’s cookies. Automatic country selection creates no cookie. This requested language functionality does not require prior cookie consent under the Danish authority’s guidance.

Privacy settings

The privacy dialog uses c15t locally, in the same essential-only mode as the Doganci Systems website. It stores no consent choices and sends no records to a consent service. No optional tracking is loaded, so no consent prompt is required for these functions.

Your appearance preference

If you switch between the night and day themes, the site saves that choice in your browser’s local storage under ptb-theme. It stays on your device and is used only to remember the appearance you chose. You can remove it by clearing this site’s browser data.

Contacting us

Contact links open your email application. If you send an email, Doganci Systems receives the information you choose to include and uses it to respond to your enquiry. You can contact us about your information at contact@protect-the-border.dev.
